This first ever Crownsman Fishing Bag has been designed on the Sunny Kapiti Coast, New Zealand by Product and Industrial designer Janette Huyser.
Janette has a strong background in many avenues of design and business and thoroughly enjoys her new found love for the great New Zealand outdoors and fishing!
"After seeing the flaws in existing fishing bags and knowing how crowded Chilly Bins make the floor of a boat, I decided to design a product which could do a much better job!
Unlike current products on the market, I was determined to make this special bag:
1. Take up less floor room
2. Able to stand on it's own (no floppiness)
3. Velcro Free!! No leaks! (Major consideration)
4. Drainable - No stagnant water
5. UV stable
6. Able to stay cold longer
7. Much more light weight
8. Able to fit a larger catch
9. Super easy to clean
10. Have no stitches to get dirty or smelly
11. Have No rust or sand in zips!
12. Be just awesome
I did a lot of research and was eventually able to satisfy all the above design needs. This bag has proven to be strong, very functional and a breeze to clean!
It has proven to hold up the the harshest fishing conditions and definitely makes storing fish so much easier. I really made sure that no cost was spared to ensure the incorporation of the best materials, zips, linings and insulation available on the market today. Rigorous testing has proven this bag to be a winner. It will no doubt evolve even further as more and more feedback and suggestions from users come in! Feedback and suggestions from keen fishermen and women are the foundation of the design." -JH
